Hi, i have a trumpet mouthpiece that is size 7C. I was shopping for a new one and saw that there are many that are size 5C. What is the difference between these? Is it time to change my trumpet mouthpiece size?
I've played the trumpet for 3 years, 6th 8th grade and had the same size mouthpiece.. I have a schilke 14.. As I get more advanced in music.. ex higher notes, harder rhythms, etc.. I find it harder to play notes below an A.. 2nd space from the top, not low A when I do, it sounds airy.. < < sp? Anyway, I was wondering if I should change to a different mouthpiece? If so, what size would be best? If not, what could it be that makes my lower notes so airy sounding, and what could I do to help it? Thanks in advance
