Should I stay with the trumpet or not?
I dont know what to do. Next year, I'm heading to 7th grade, in a new school. I play the trumpet and I think I'm pretty good My teacher says I'm good. I'm not too sure, I'm not too crazy about the trumpet anymore, plus it's kind of too much. But my parents and teacher think I'm good. What should I do? Drop it or stay with it? Please give me some reasons why. If you can't thanks for your advice anyways.

I need help with playing the trumpet?
OK so Ive played the trumpet for 3 years in my music class and Ive gotten pretty good but for some reason when i play the same trumpet for lets say more than 2 weeks i get worse at buzzing and just making sound in general and now the more I play with the same trumpet I get worse and worse and now I cant play scales properly. In grade 8 I always switched trumpets like every month and I played way better I was one of the best trumpet players than most of my fellow trumpet players but since ive stopped switching trumpets in grade 9 occasionally Ive became the worst trumpet in player in my class and probably grade. Can someone help me and tell me why I have this problem and tnx.I have good breathing and I know all of the notes really well its just playing and making sound come out clearly and also if anyone can help me I cant tongue at all so thanks.

How good should I be at the trumpet going into high school?
Right now, I'm in 8th grade and getting ready to go to high school. I would like to know how good I should be. Right now I can easily hit a high E above the staff every time, sometimes get an F or G out there. My teacher tells me that my tone has really improved since I got a new mouthpiece. I'm 1st chair in my county youth symphony and made all county. Will I be fine going into high school with really advanced players????

I am 16 years old, in band and choir and understand music very well. Lately, I've been wanting to try my hand at another instrument. I play percussion right now mostly mallets, but a bit of snare too . I have good rhythmic understanding but I've never played a wind instrument. When I tried out for band, I remember that I was better at brass instruments than woodwinds, and so I decided that trumpet would be the easiest for me. Would it be possible to teach myself proper embouchure for trumpet playing or should I take formal lessons?
