Is 8th grade too young to switch to a professional trumpet?
I'm a pretty advanced player, and on a previous question I asked about switching to intermediate. Everyone who answered said to skip intermediate and go to professional because it would last my whole career and would save money. Is this a good idea? Are there any consequences on switching straight to professional?Oh and I probably won't be getting one anytime soon. This is for reference. The earliest I'll probably get a professional horn is sometime in high school. Thank you.I don't have a private teacher...
What is the best professional trumpet brand suitable for me?
I've been playing the trumpet for about 9 years now on a Bach TR300 and I'm really looking into getting a professional trumpet. I've been playing in an orchestra for all of my nine years of experience with a Vincent Bach 3c mouthpiece. I'm looking for a professional trumpet with a beautiful whole sound upper and lower register and very well made. Thanks Jerry

Am I on the right track to becoming a professional trumpet player?
I'm 14 years old and a freshman in hish school. I've played since I was 11. I've been to Solo and Ensemble festival both last year and this year, last year I played a song out of the trumpet stars book called Mira by Vandercook. I took that solo and auditioned for the top band in the state and made it. However, I was last chair. Over the summer, I took another trumpet star solo, Rigel to a local international program and made principal trumpet of their top band, falling short of the orchestra because I was too youngThis year, I took Andante and Alegretto by Balay to Districts and did just as well as last year. Today, I took that solo to states and was the only freshman in my room to get a one. My judge told me that I'm ready for the Hummel Mov. 1. I practice hard, not as well as I could, but I play a lot. I work out my Arban and Clarke and I have a fabulous teacher. I really want to be a pro and go to a nice music school. Am I on the right track? What can I do to improve?I have alot of jazz, don't worry. I'm in my school's top jazz group and we practice two hours after school everyday, real music not student jazz music
