Any tips on how to get my band director to let me march with my Bb piccolo trumpet instead of my Bb Soprano?My tone is SO much better on the picc. it is my primary instrument and i have immensely greater range, my notes are more seperated, and i sound SO much better...my lowest possible note is a Concert B Natural right below middle C on the picc.. and that is FAR lower than i EVER need to play in marching, any advice?Im in high school wichita heights high school in wichita, kansas, usamy director is kimberly vogt
Switch from alto sax to piccolo trumpet?
I have been playing Alto sax for a long time and am pretty good at it and currently playing it in high school band. I want to switch to a brass instrument and after listening to a bunch, fell in love with the piccolo trumpet. I have never played a brass instrument before and I understand going straight to piccolo trumpet is very hard. I just want to know that if I practice a lot if its possible without any experience at all.Thanks
How hard is it to play piccolo trumpet?
Hey guys, I was just wondering how hard is it to play piccolo trumpet compared to a regular Bb trumpet? I can grasp C, D, E, and F above the scale, and have been playing Canon in D on regularl Bb trumpet for a little while, so I think that I have good Embocure control. I also know that you need a lighter tongue and breath style otherwise it will sound like amature hour. Any advice as far as this and what mouthpiece to use would really be appreciated. Why does no one have any sheet music for the piccolo trumpet?
I've looked everywhere for piccolo trumpet sheet music and scales but i cant find any. By the way, there is one thing that i dont understand. there are descriptions on how to play it, they say it in words but i need some thing that will give me the fingerings like in a beginner trumpet book that you get the first time you play it in grade school.
