Will it be hard for me to start learning to play a musical instrument (trumpet) now that i'm 18?
thinking of trying as i regret not doing it when i was younger.
Should I quit playing my musical instrument (Trumpet)?
I don't enjoy playing my trumpet I don't like practicing, music lessons, band etc but I'm not sure if I should quit.Firstly, I have braces and it hurts when I play and I cannot play without putting pressure on because it makes me sound rubbish. And when I sound rubbish I find it very demoralizing.Secondly, I don't enjoy playing it.Thirdly, I just cant be bothered with it and I find it REALLY boring apart from the rare occasion.Despite all this I'm thinking twice about it because it's a skill not many people have and I should be lucky to have it. I also need it for Duke of Edinburgh and without it I don't know what else I would do. My parents are also very proud of me that I play it and I have been playing for many years and have reached grade 4 and I am working on Grade 5.Please help me with this as I don't know what to do. Do the advantages out weigh the disadvantages??UPDATE Thanks for all the responses people, everyone's comment was helpful apart from the one that said " Stop Bitching" As all the responses were fantastic, it's hard to give a best answer, sorry Ive decided that I will carry on until grade 5 then decide again afterwords. Who knows I might enjoy it again??Thanks again
